hey all,
just wondering if there is such a thing as fishing seasons-i've been getting the impression from fishing sites that at the moment it's a bit of a low point and haven't seen anyone catching on the seafront. I'm on sussex coast. I tend to fish of beach/jetties (with weights, not spinning) but haven't been having much luck. And is mackrel a summer fish for shore fishing? Would love a bit of feedback as I found that the fisher men around here aren't the most friendly bunch. I certainly miss Brighton in that respect!

be a while before macrel try for flounder /sole /plaice make friends in the tackle shop

We have been catching mackerel on our bit of coast for quite a few weeks and the bass are showing big time.

Mackerel not quite here yet, but the Bass are in here as well. Lots of Skate as well, yummy.
