I tried some several times on holiday. I tried to like it but couldn't say that I'd try it again.

I like it but I'm not sure that I'd want it as my staple source of protein.

I can't get past the smell!! I've never managed to put a piece in my mouth ... why would I when the smell makes me heave?

OH ordered some in a restuarant once. Not one to waste food he only managed to eat it by holding his nose. I do hope the chef couldn't see him

My reaction was very similar when I had a rush of blood to the head once and ordered an andouillette-filled crêpe. I don't like being defeated by food, but it was a close-run thing.

Back to the original question though - have you checked with the abattoir that they will let you have the requisite wiggly bits? ISTR that they aren't supposed to let you have them, but maybe your powers of persuasion are better than mine.

I like tripe---but not seen it since I moved to the wilds of Ceredigion----easily available in Yorkshire/Lancashire.

Gervase, there was some on display on a stall at Belfast farmers market today. The spirit was willing but the flesh was weak, so I ended up getting sheep's milk cheese instead.

I don't care if I'm lily livered, that stuff smelled rank, and not in a good way.

I have some in the freezer. The luckier ones who are coming to the Welsh meet may be treated to a breakfast to remember!
