I am after a couple of fruit trees - native or traditional variety apple/damson/plum/gage. Can anyone recommend where to buy? I know I'm late in the season for planting - I was going to go for pot-grown if possible.

I'm looking at orange pippin atm.

I can get you a Damson tree or two from the Lowther Valley Damson Day next week if you like https://www.lythdamsons.org.uk/damsonday.html - They are probably the best Damsons around

They grow them in decent size pots so it can go in when we come down for Rabbitstraveganza

I'd love one, dpack, thank you. Let me know what I owe you?

Jo - thank you, but I'd really like to get them in this week and they they can have another year's growth in the ground. I'm having a burst of real enthusiasm about making this garden a long-term one.

I like Deacon's https://www.deaconsnurseryfruits.co.uk/
I've bought loads of different fruit trees from them over the years and never had any problems. They've always been very helpful when ever I've phoned them to ask questions.

I have heard good reports of Deacons, although I have never used them. You could also try Blackmoor at Selbourne.

We ended up getting trees from someone in North Lincs - Mr Darcy's Heritage Fruit Trees - which not very useful for you, but I thought the Orange Pippin site was incredibly useful for working out which varieties - though things do run out by now so depends on how specific you are.

We had a Farleigh Damson on our allotment in Manchester and I really liked it so have got another in a pot waiting to go in as soon as we can dig enough bricks and rubble out of the site where it's going![/url]
