OK, so no job is forthcoming - maybe some lambing down south, maybe helping wombat, but nothing concrete and yet people still want money off me so its time for a BIG, risky, no nonsense PUSH on my company The TBFco to get it making munny!

On sunday we (me and my partner who sells posters much moresuccessfully than i sell cards!) are off to hemswell boot sale, i have a craft stall in the permanent craft hall there already, in an effort to flog enough cards to give me a bit of pocket money and pay off another bit of business overdraft. i haven't taken ANY money from the business yet, since it started in november 2005 so i think its about time!

even if i dont sell any cards i have some junk to sell and will help ian with his posters. but i am inexplicably nervous! Its one thing heping ian, it;s another trying to convicne people to buy MY stuff, face to face!!!!

Relax, treat it as a fun day and it will be. If you get all nervous you won't sell half as much.

Where exactly is this event? Maybe you should tell people in the "What's On" section, might get a few more punters along?

Don't worry about that, sometimes the buzz just carries you through. Good luck

Agree with what you say about selling your own products.
Good idea getting OH to sell it.
I had reasonable success at the farmers market, not competing with 50 other "craft" stalls makes a hell of a difference.
Best of luck.... but remember if you have a good day or bad day, the next one could be better or worse.
Dave.

I get nervous as anything selling my own work - I hate it (the seling, not my work )

So, I adopt a persona and pretend to be more confident than I am. Works a treat.

At least it is a clear lesson, that is not your market. Making £30 might have been far worse!

It was slow for everyone really, and i had major display issues (windy so the heavy things had to weigh down the lighter things = one big mess!)

I'll try again one more time this week with the improvements to the stall and if theres not substantial improvement, never again!
