Our local Red Cross shop has an annual party-wear 'event' this time every year, where they put out all the blingy / shiny / evening dress / party frock-type clothes that they have been stockpiling.

Might be worth a look to see whether your local charity shops are doing similar, if you feel the urge/need to acquire new-to-you festive clothing / fancy dress.

Yep, the bling is certainly featuring in Bangor!!
Not keen on sequins and glitter personally but there's some amazing stuff on the rails if you do.

Has no one found new festive clothes, then ?

Or are you too busy gluing sequins to your wellies ?

Sequins on wellies. It's SO "this year"

Party clothes? I might, if I thought I might get invited to any parties

There's a complete dearth of sensible clothes, as well. I've been looking for some nice warm pullies to muck out hens in and it's all low-cut sequiny tops that are COMPLETELY unsuitable

Obviously the sequins are to jazz up last years 'welly warmers' ... it's spicing things up in the spirit of the season

I got a fab black velvet halterneck jumpsuit a couple of years ago for seasonal outings. Unfortunately, I have accumulated so much flubber that when I optimistically tried it on the other day I realised that I looked more pregnant than my friend Lisa who actually is four months pregnant! Took that off in a hurry I can tell you!

It's at times like that you wonder whether those little stick on pad things that give you an electric shock might be worth trying.... I mean, God forbid I should actually do a sit up!

Oh well, guess I'll just have to accept I'm 46 and a bit of flubber probably goes with the territory, sigh....

I must say that it seems terribly unfair that wrestling sheep or hay bales does nothing for your middle
