We recently tried and failed to get these on one line. But would it be better if we did get them on one line by losing the icons? e.g more like: https://www.team-ninja.com/vbulletin/

I think two lines as now look O.K., and I'd be loath to lose the icons.

It could work if they were buttons rather than straight text, but then how would you get it to say "3 new messages" or whatever?
